The Institute for Biomedical Entrepreneurship (IBE) and Curtis were both inspiring in showing that a completely different mindset is necessary to change the status quo within the startup environment in Brazil. The intersection between science and business needs initiatives like the IBE and people like Curtis to foster the ecosystem to move forward. Becoming part of the IBE network and being an advisor for LATAM made me very grateful and proud to bring such a special and unique DNA to Brazil and Latin America. Besides all that, attending the program was an honor; and getting to know so many bright scientists, scholars, entrepreneurs, and business people from all over the world, was an experience that I'll remember for the rest of my life!
